Position: Family Safeguarding Social Worker

Salary: £37,280 – £41,771 per annum

Job Type: Permanent | Full-time | Part-time

Work location: Yeovil

Your Role Will Include:

  • Work within the Family Safeguarding model alongside adult-focused practitioners
  • Undertake direct work with children and young people to understand their experiences
  • Collaborate with parents and wider family networks using Family Group Conferencing
  • Support families to identify strengths, address challenges, and change behaviours
  • Contribute to assessments and plans in substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health
  • Use motivational interviewing to support sustainable change
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners to deliver effective safeguarding outcomes

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Substantial experience working with children and families
  • Passion for relationship-based and systemic social work
  • Ability to think creatively and reflectively
  • Strong communication and engagement skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Commitment to improving outcomes for children and families

Please Note: We may consider offering Skilled Worker visa sponsorship to suitably qualified overseas social workers who are already residing in the UK. To be eligible, applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Sponsorship will be assessed as part of the recruitment process. This is only available to candidates currently living in the UK, as unfortunately we are unable to provide resettlement support.

Based in Yeovil, covering the South Somerset area, we are very open to flexible working options. You will need to hold a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle as travel is required.
