FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
We are recruiting Healthcare Assistants for dayshift or nightshift positions at Applecross Nursing Home in Glasgow (G53 7TG). We provide care for older residents and also support younger adults with physical disabilities across specialist units.
Pay and hours
£12.60 per hour. Enhanced overtime rate applies.
Permanent roles with full-time and part-time options.
Expected hours are 22 to 44 per week depending on the rota agreed.
Location
Free on-site parking and accessible by public transport.
The role
You will work as part of the team under the guidance of the Nurse in Charge, supporting residents with personal care and wellbeing throughout your shift. You will provide safe, respectful care, respond to resident needs, and contribute to a calm, well organised environment.
What you will be doing
- Supporting residents with personal care including hygiene, continence care, dressing, and comfort checks.
- Assisting with nutrition and hydration as required.
- Completing regular checks and responding to call bells promptly.
- Supporting safe mobility and repositioning, following moving and handling guidance.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care plans and handovers.
- Supporting a clean and safe environment in line with infection prevention and control standards.
What we are looking for
- Caring, reliable people with a good team approach.
- Experience in care is preferred but not essential as training and support are provided.
- Confidence in working days or nights and maintaining high standards when the home is quieter.
- Right to work in the UK.
