Salary: £95,000 – £132,000 per annum

Your Role Will Include:
- Lead multi-physics simulations for high-performance optical and computing systems
- Conduct advanced FEA for stress, strain, warpage, and modal analysis
- Perform thermo-optical-mechanical simulations across assembly and operation stages
- Drive substrate stack-up optimisation for mechanical stability and thermal performance
- Model ageing, creep, fatigue, and long-term reliability behaviour
- Guide material selection across ceramics, organics, ABF, and BT substrates
- Correlate simulation results with empirical testing and validation data
- Standardise and automate workflows using ANSYS, Abaqus, or COMSOL
- Define specifications with manufacturing partners and vendors
- Clearly document methodologies, assumptions, and design recommendations
What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years’ experience in mechanical simulation and analysis
- Strong background in opto-mechanical systems, substrates, or advanced materials
- Deep expertise in multi-physics and thermo-mechanical modelling
- Proven experience with warpage control, thermal management, and reliability analysis
- Advanced proficiency in ANSYS, Abaqus, or COMSOL
- Strong understanding of material properties (CTE, modulus, thermal conductivity)
- Ability to translate complex simulation data into actionable design improvements
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or similar
- PhD highly desirable
