Integrated Graphene (iGii) is hiring a Senior Reagent Scientist to join its growing Bioassay & Reagents department in Stirling.
In this role, you will work closely with the Sensors & Assay Development team and the wider R&D function to develop and test reagents for cutting-edge sensor platforms. Salary: £44,500 – £53,150 per year

Your Role Will Include:
- Designing and implementing bioconjugation protocols
- Analysing bioconjugates and raw materials for purity, yield, and integrity
- Developing and optimising immobilisation strategies on proprietary Gii surfaces
- Developing model assays to test analyte-binding performance
- Communicating findings via reports and team meetings
- Working in accordance with GLP and GRP standards
- Maintaining and calibrating reagent-related equipment
- Creating and reviewing SOPs and COSHH documentation
- Performing gel electrophoresis and plate reader assays
- Supporting assay development projects in a commercial R&D environment
What We Are Looking For:
Essential Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, or related discipline
OR
- At least five years of relevant industrial experience in reagent development
Technical Expertise Required:
- Strong foundation in reagent preparation principles
- Biomolecule conjugation and conjugation chemistry
- Reagent stability testing and optimisation
- Biomolecule purification techniques
- Optical detection methods (e.g., fluorescence immunoassays)
- Molecular biology techniques (DNA handling, PCR)
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) and method optimisation
- Strong documentation skills aligned with GLP standards
- Ability to work both independently and in multidisciplinary teams
- Desirable: Experience contributing to patent filings or IP generation.
