Animal Trust is seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join its Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) team at the Barnsley Hospital.

This permanent night-shift role is ideal for a veterinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced emergency environment and is passionate about affordable, accessible pet care. The hospital operates with a transparent pricing structure, including a £79 out-of-hours consultation fee, ensuring pets receive necessary care when they need it most.

The Barnsley clinic features:

• 10 modern consulting rooms
• 4 fully equipped theatres
• X-ray and dental suites
• Separate dog and cat wards
• Diverse caseload including surgical, medical, and orthopaedic procedures
• Newly introduced nurse-led overnight care for stable patients

The night team works closely with first-opinion and referral services during the day to ensure strong continuity of care and clinical support.

Salary: Up to £73,902 per year

Your Role Will Include:

• Delivering high-quality Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) during night shifts
• Managing a varied caseload including surgical, medical, and orthopaedic cases
• Working collaboratively with the day team to ensure seamless continuity of care
• Supporting nurse-led overnight patient monitoring
• Providing compassionate care to both patients and pet owners
• Contributing to a non-hierarchical, collaborative team culture
