FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Practice Lead to establish, evolve and embed best practice in business analysis and process improvement across our organisation. Collaborating with multi discipline matrix teams you’ll set the framework that unites BAs and Process Analysts across different business and technology teams, build a strong community of practice, and lift consistency and outcomes across strategic transformation initiatives.

This is a highly visible, influential role that requires energy, conviction and the confidence to lead through complexity. You will operate at the intersection of change, delivery and culture, navigating diverse stakeholder agendas to achieve alignment and momentum.

Success in this role is about your ability to engage, influence and inspire buy-in at all levels of the organisation. You will partner closely with senior leaders and chapters to shape standards, capability and ways of working, framing change in a way that resonates optically and practically with stakeholders and is and informed by industry best practice and standards.

Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.

At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch.

We’re an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries – which means we’re big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It’s an exciting time. We’re building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.

What if you could have a positive impact – at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you’ll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.

Your new role

Define and maintain the Business & Process Analysis functional skills framework, standards and methodologies in partnership with BA Managers and Chapters.
Build and evolve practice assets (methodologies, templates, tools), integrating agile/hybrid approaches within programme and project structures where appropriate.
Grow capability through training, career pathways, competency models and skills assessments for business and process analysts.
Act as a visible leader and advocate for the practice, taking clear ownership for outcomes and setting direction across a distributed, cross‑divisional community.
Lead the BA chapter forums and peer communities; provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to practitioners (including initial collaboration with external advisors to stand up communities).
Assure quality with peer reviews of requirements, process maps and solution designs; maintain a current process catalogue in Signavio and ensure compliance with organisational/regulatory controls.
Initially, engage extensively with senior stakeholders across functions and geographies, influencing decision‑making and building trust in environments with competing priorities.
Align analysis to strategy by partnering with senior leaders, programme managers and architects; facilitate workshops to clarify requirements and optimise processes.
Drive improvement and innovation in analysis techniques and tools, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
Measure impact of the practice and report its contribution to business outcomes; continuously refine approaches based on lessons learned and organisational maturity.

About you

A passionate, driven leader who brings energy, credibility and presence to complex organisational environments.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing capability, with proven experience securing buy‑in across senior, cross‑functional and global stakeholder groups, navigating complex priorities, cultures and organisational politics.
Demonstrated experience building and scaling communities of practice or centres of excellence.
Strong business change leadership experience – leading, influencing, directing and taking ownership for outcomes rather than facilitating from the sidelines.
Experience of business analysis and process improvement within complex organisations.
Solid (not necessarily expert‑level) BA and process knowledge; depth of methodology can be developed, but leadership impact and passion are non‑negotiable.
Exposure to digital transformation and technology‑enabled change, with a strategic end‑to‑end transformation mindset.
Industry background is flexible; financial services/insurance experience is helpful but not essential.
