Salary: £45,000 – £45,500 a year

Your Role Will Include:

‎As a Transport Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of transport operations, ensuring legal compliance, operational efficiency, and high service standards. You will oversee drivers, vehicles, compliance processes, and continuous improvement across the business.

‎Key duties include:

• ‎Managing transport operations in line with UK transport legislation
• ‎Ensuring full compliance with DVSA, Traffic Commissioner, and Operator Licence requirements
• ‎Planning and optimising vehicle routes and schedules
• ‎Overseeing vehicle maintenance, inspections, and MOTs
• ‎Managing driver compliance with tachograph, drivers’ hours, and working time regulations
• ‎Recruiting, training, and supervising drivers and transport staff
• ‎Maintaining accurate transport records and documentation
• ‎Implementing health & safety policies
• ‎Managing transport budgets, fuel efficiency, and costs
• ‎Acting as the main point of contact during audits and regulatory reviews

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Transport Manager CPC (National or International) – essential
• ‎Proven experience in transport or logistics management
• ‎Strong understanding of UK transport legislation and compliance
• ‎Excellent leadership, organisational, and time-management skills
• ‎Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• ‎Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• ‎Good IT proficiency (TMS, compliance systems, MS Office)

‎Desirable:

• ‎Experience managing HGV or commercial vehicle fleets
• ‎Experience in a growing or start-up transport business
• ‎Familiarity with operator licence audits and reviews
