Your Role Will Include:
As an SEN Education Support Worker, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a 9-year-old pupil within a 2:1 provision, working closely with a qualified tutor. You will help the pupil access learning, regulate emotions, and engage positively within a safe and structured environment.
‎Key responsibilities include:
- ‎Supporting learning activities delivered by the tutor
- ‎Assisting with emotional regulation, transitions, and behaviour support
- ‎Implementing strategies to reduce dysregulation and promote engagement
- ‎Maintaining a calm, consistent, and nurturing presence
- ‎Supporting routines, boundaries, and expectations
- ‎Communicating effectively with the tutor and wider team
- ‎Recording brief session notes and contributing to progress updates
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- ‎Previous experience working with children with SEN
- ‎Confidence supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour
- ‎A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- ‎Ability to work collaboratively within a 2:1 education model
- ‎Strong communication and observation skills
‎Desirable:
- ‎Background in SEN education, alternative provision, or pastoral support
- ‎Experience in 1:1 or 2:1 education settings
- ‎Relevant qualifications in SEN, education, childcare, or youth work
